3rd Puerto Vallarta Pata Salada Festival, April 17–19

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, México – Puerto Vallarta is getting ready to host the third edition of the Pata Salada Festival 2026, a cultural and artistic celebration scheduled for April 17–19 on the scenic Isla del Río Cuale. The annual event continues to grow as a showcase of local identity and creative talent from across the region.

Organizers introduced the upcoming festival during an official presentation, noting that the event began in 2023 with the goal of creating meaningful opportunities for local artists. Since its launch, the festival has focused on highlighting the wide range of artistic voices that shape Puerto Vallarta’s cultural landscape.

Festival founder Beto Sempere shared that the full lineup will be released soon and will feature a broad mix of creative expressions. Painters, muralists, musicians, poets, dancers, and circus performers are expected to take part, alongside local artisans and food vendors offering regional flavors and craft mixology. After welcoming approximately 5,000 attendees to Parque Hidalgo in 2025, organizers anticipate attendance could double this year thanks to the larger setting offered by the island.

Creative coordinator Violeta Elizalde explained that the 2026 theme, “Entrecorrientes,” draws inspiration from the meeting of the Cuale River and the sea. This concept reflects the coming together of artistic styles and cultural influences, transforming the island into a center of creativity throughout the three-day celebration.

Artistic presentations will be organized into several thematic “currents.” The visual arts section will highlight painters, muralists, and photographers, while the sound category will feature musicians, singers, and poets. The movement segment will include dance and folkloric performances, complemented by culinary and mixology offerings and a dedicated craft area showcasing locally made goods.

Three main stages—Sea, Moon, and Sun—will host performances designed to appeal to a wide range of audiences, from intimate cultural displays to larger musical shows. Additional activities planned for the festival include yoga and meditation sessions, Zumba classes, a fashion show, and a beauty pageant, offering entertainment and participation opportunities for all ages.

Admission to the Pata Salada Festival will be free, encouraging residents and visitors alike to take part in this community-centered event. By bringing together artists from Puerto Vallarta and the greater Banderas Bay area, the festival continues to strengthen regional pride and celebrate the spirit of the “pata salada” community.
