Lo de Marcos, Nayarit – The 7th Annual Taste of Lo de Marcos, set to be held from 3:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, February 23, 2020 in the town’s Central Plaza, will feature local restaurants, artisanal booths and live music, with proceeds benefiting two local non-profits.
Each year this community fundraiser gets more exciting, and this year is no exception with entertainment starting at 3:30 with the fabulous Batalá Marching Band from San Pancho, followed by the Orchestra Municipal of H. X Ayuntamiento de Bahía de Banderas.
Batalá San Pancho was started by Kelly Guenther, formally (2013-2017) of Batalá NYC, the original New York City branch of the international samba-reggae project called “Batalá.” In 2020, the local band is 18 members strong and growing every week. They believe in the power of the drums to empower, unite and bring joy to those who play and everyone who hears it. They are changing lives one beat at a time.
Orchestra Municipal of H. X Ayuntamiento de Bahía de Banderas is the representative of the municipality of Bahía de Banderas on an international level, performing out the county and representing our municipality at several important events. Click HERE to see one of their performances on YouTube.
This Annual Fundraiser has become a major event in Riviera Nayarit, and every year it gets more exciting, so make plans now to come out and enjoy a perfect afternoon and early evening of music, food and fun, while supporting two of the town’s most important Non Profit Organizations – Amigos de Lo de Marcos and Comite de Accion Ciudadana.
Admission, as always, is FREE.
