Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The PV Garden Club supports not only a more beautiful, clean and verdant city, but is also making it more attractive to tourism, thus creating a vibrant economy to support all the other great causes in Puerto Vallarta. Here’s the latest news from the PVGC.
The Vallarta Garden Club has been hard at work the last several weeks refurbishing, rebuilding and painting of the many broken planter boxes on the Basillio Badillo.
Claire, from Galleria Dante spearheaded a merchants group to improve the area and got this ball rolling. This New merchant’s group chose the aqua blue paint color for the boxes that our gardener, Adan has been diligently applying. The planter boxes in many cases had been destroyed by the construction work and ATM buses hitting them.
After several years of unfulfilled promises by the City and the Tourism Office to fix, the PVGC decided to take on the task themselves with new rebar, cement blocks, paint and much needed trimming. The boxes have been an eyesore to those that wander up and down this pretty little street. Once again they are looking fresh.
Next up will be some new under plantings. Shout out to Francie Victoria of Vallarta Food Bank for labor help as well! If you are looking for something you can dig your hands into (no pun intended) please join us.
We are a fun, non-profit social group that sponsors civic landscaping and other community service projects in Puerto Vallarta. If you have enjoyed the bougainvillea in Old Town or walked along the gardens on the Isla Cuale, you have seen some of our work.
