Riviera Nayarit, Mexico – The Mayor-Elect of Bahía de Banderas, Héctor Santana, announced that the construction of the Federaciones Bridge, which will connect Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas over the Ameca River, has been officially approved. This decision was confirmed during a historic visit to Nayarit by the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and president-elect Claudia Sheinbaum.
Santana, alongside Nayarit Governor Dr. Miguel Angel Navarro, highlighted that this project comes after over a decade of failed negotiations and meetings with various levels of government. The bridge is expected to enhance infrastructure and connectivity between the two regions, reflecting a collaborative effort to address the area’s mobility needs.
The Federaciones Bridge is designed to ease transit between Bahía de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta, which will, in turn, boost economic and tourism growth in the region. Santana expressed pride and optimism for the future of Bahía de Banderas, viewing the project as the start of a new era of prosperity for the municipality.
He also extended his gratitude to President López Obrador, President-elect Sheinbaum, and Governor Navarro for their commitment to the project. Santana assured that his upcoming administration in Bahía de Banderas will focus on ensuring a bright future for the municipality.
The Federations bridge is expected to significantly reduce travel time for the over 479,000 residents of the metropolitan area, as well as benefit the thousands of visitors who drive to this popular tourist destination.
