New Sunwing Flight to Boost Winter Travel to Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta is set for a bustling winter tourism season, anticipating a significant influx of Canadian visitors, its second-largest international market. This expected surge will further solidify Vallarta’s standing as one of the top three destinations in Mexico for travelers from Canada.

Sunwing, the airline and tour operator, has announced a new direct flight from Victoria to Puerto Vallarta, beginning December 10. The new weekly service will bring approximately 700 additional passengers each month from British Columbia’s capital, enhancing the connectivity between Canada and the Mexican Pacific coast.

With the introduction of this route, Sunwing will offer flights to Puerto Vallarta from ten Canadian cities next winter, including Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec, Regina, Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and now Victoria. Travelers can enjoy Sunwing’s all-inclusive vacation packages on all routes, making the journey even more appealing.

The expanded flight schedules underscore the growing allure of this popular beach vacation destination among Canadian travelers. Recently, WestJet unveiled new flights from various Canadian cities, while Air Transat announced an extra frequency on its Montreal-Puerto Vallarta route from February to March 2025.

These increased services provide a perfect escape from the harsh Canadian winter, offering easy access to the Banderas Bay area’s sunny beaches, rich cultural experiences, and welcoming hospitality. With more options than ever, Canadian travelers can effortlessly explore the captivating beauty and diverse experiences that make Puerto Vallarta a premier destination.
