Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Boca de Tomatlán, a charming coastal town just south of Puerto Vallarta, has officially unveiled its newly constructed dock. The $4.5 million peso project, funded in part by the Tourism Lodging Tax and the state government, aims to bolster tourism and economic development in the region.
The modern dock, replacing a dilapidated structure, features a spacious concrete platform, boat ramps, and improved accessibility. This vital infrastructure will enhance connectivity between Boca de Tomatlán and nearby coastal communities, including Yelapa, Quimixto, Chacala, Las Animas, Caletas, Chimo, and others.
Governor Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, who presided over the inauguration ceremony, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. “This new dock will not only improve tourism but also boost economic opportunities for the local community,” he stated.
The governor-elect, Pablo Lemus, also attended the ceremony and pledged his commitment to furthering the nautical infrastructure between Puerto Vallarta, Cabo Corrientes, and Tomatlán. He emphasized his focus on promoting tourism and economic development along the Jalisco coast, ensuring ongoing support for the region’s growth.
The newly inaugurated dock is set to become a cornerstone of Boca de Tomatlán’s future, facilitating smoother maritime travel and boosting the local economy by connecting the area’s charming, boat-access-only coastal gems.
