Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Anglers from across Mexico are reeling with excitement for the 17th Annual Playa los Muertos Fishing Tournament, set to take place on Saturday, November 9. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with an increased prize pool and a guaranteed cash prize of $450,000 pesos.
Since its inception in 2007, the tournament has become a beloved tradition in Puerto Vallarta, attracting anglers from across Mexico. The competition is open to all skill levels, and the friendly atmosphere makes it a great opportunity to meet new people and enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery.
Staying true to its roots, this year’s tournament will focus exclusively on catching Dorado, also known as Mahi-Mahi. Participants will compete for a substantial prize pool of 450,000 pesos, distributed as follows: 300,000 pesos for first place, 100,000 pesos for second place, and 50,000 pesos for third place.
Registration for the event is open only on November 8 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at Deportes Gutierrez Rizo, where boats can be registered for a fee of $6,000 pesos. An additional $500 pesos can be contributed to enter the traditional jackpot. To register, participants must provide the boat’s registration certificate, captain and crew information, individual fishing permits, and the intended fishing route.
After the tournament, attendees can look forward to a festive beach party with live music, food, and fireworks, open to both participants and the public. The atmosphere will be full of excitement and camaraderie, making it a memorable experience for all.
