MiMi Bomba: Deb Darling and the Missing Glass Tale

Hola, Amigos y Amigas!

Speaking of Amigas, one of my dear friends is a lovely woman, henceforth to be referred to as Deb Darling for the sake of her anonymity. She has lived here for a long time and truly personifies the spirit of kindness and community here in Puerto Vallarta.

In fact, for those of you who read my prior article, Deb Darling is the person who noticed the Purse Puppy Parade! She has the ability to enjoy her life in the moment, here and now, a quality to which I aspire and admire.

I want to share a little story about Deb Darling with you. I was at her home last week, and as always, she made sure she had a fridge full of my favorite cervezas. I was enjoying one of them when Señor Uber arrived to take us on an adventure. I had not finished my beer and certainly didn’t want to waste it, so I carried it with me to the door, finished it, and set it down.

Later that day, I noticed that the glass was missing. Deb and I looked everywhere we thought it should be. At first, we thought the maid might have inadvertently tossed it out, but she had left before we did.

Skipping ahead, three days later I got a text from Deb Darling with a photo of a niche in the hallway containing a statue of a Saint and the caption: “Good and Bad.” There was the glass which I had left there and forgotten.

The point of this story is: This is why women of a certain age can no longer have babies. (Pretty sure I would leave one in a shopping cart at Walmart).

That’s it for today. There was something else I wanted to tell you, but I’ve forgotten what it was.

Nos vemos pronto!

I love Puerto Vallarta. I love Mexico.
Tu Amiga, MiMi Bomba
