The event, endorsed by the Jalisco Association of Athletics Clubs AC and the Mexican Federation of Athletics Associations, will bring over 400 athletes from various states to compete in a range of categories. This exciting competition highlights the city’s commitment to supporting athletic achievement.
A key part of the weekend’s events is the Puerto Vallarta 5K Tourist Half Marathon, taking place this Sunday, February 23rd. The race features both 21k and 5k courses, with the 5k route culminating in a celebratory lap around the athletics track. This friendly competition offers a wonderful opportunity for runners to test their skills and enjoy the scenic beauty of Puerto Vallarta.
To ensure the safety of all race participants, the government of Luis Munguía has announced temporary road closures along Francisco Medina Ascencio Avenue. These closures will be in effect from 5:00 am to 11:30 am, impacting the road’s center lanes and several key intersections: Medina Ascencio with Américas, Juan Soriano, Libramiento, Clínica 42, Fiesta Americana, Kristal and Águila, Hospital Joya, Galerías, and Isla Iguana.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during these times, including Las Glorias, Fluvial Vallarta, and Prisciliano Sánchez roads. The city is working to minimize disruption while prioritizing the safety and success of this exciting sporting event.
