Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Join nature lovers of all ages on Saturday, May 17 at Vallarta Botanical Garden for World Migratory Bird Day – a celebration of birds, art, and community. This year’s global theme, “Shared Spaces: Creating Bird-Friendly Cities and Communities,” highlights the importance of coexisting with the migratory birds that grace our skies each season.
The family-friendly event offers a full morning of educational and artistic activities surrounded by the beauty of the tropical forest. Start your day at 9:00 am with a guided birdwatching walk, followed by an 11:00 am presentation and the chance to observe feathers under a microscope. At 1:00 pm, an art workshop invites participants to create “botanical birds” using real flowers.
Organized internationally by the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) and Environment for the Americas (EFTA), this annual event encourages people to help protect the natural spaces migratory birds rely on for rest, breeding, and survival.
Whether you’re a seasoned birder or simply curious about wildlife, World Migratory Bird Day is a great way to connect with nature and inspire future conservation efforts.
Admission is free for Garden members. Non-members pay $300 MXN per adult and $150 MXN for children ages 5 to 10.
