Vallarta Embraces Reforestation Through Tree Adoption Program

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta is about to get a lot greener this June with the launch of the Árboles de Plaza en Plaza program. This new initiative, led by the Environmental Sustainability Directorate, aims to promote reforestation and environmental protection throughout the city by encouraging residents to adopt and plant ornamental trees.

Starting this month, and continuing through the rainy season until September, a colorful and informative stand will appear in various public plazas across Puerto Vallarta. Citizens will have the opportunity to visit these stands and adopt a tree to take home.

Every adopted tree will come with a detailed technical sheet. This document will include essential information about the tree’s species, its common name, various uses, and important advice for its management, proper planting, and ongoing care.

To ensure these newly planted trees thrive, participants in the program will need to sign a form. This form will collect personal information, allowing the Environmental Sustainability Directorate to keep track of all adopted trees and monitor their care.

The Árboles de Plaza en Plaza program has a clear goal: to increase reforestation efforts, plant more trees, and improve environmental protection in Puerto Vallarta. By actively involving citizens, the program seeks to build a stronger sense of environmental awareness and responsibility within the community.
