New State Civil Protection Base Planned Near Vallarta Airport

Puerto Vallarta is moving ahead with plans to build a new state Civil Protection and Fire Department headquarters, a project that will significantly strengthen emergency response across the city. This upcoming facility, situated at a key location near the International Airport and Francisco Medina Ascencio Avenue, is designed to enhance emergency response times and provide greater security for local families.

During a recent tour of the construction site, Mayor Luis Munguía González highlighted the importance of the project for public safety and confirmed that the City Council fulfilled its commitment by donating the land to support the state’s investment. He also expressed his appreciation to Commander Sergio Ramírez López, Jalisco’s State Director of Civil Protection, for his coordination and continued support in bringing the project to fruition.

Strategically placing the base near the city’s main transit arteries offers practical advantages for the entire region. Engineer Misael López Muro, director of Puerto Vallarta’s Civil Protection and Firefighters, explained that the new location allows emergency units to deploy more efficiently to both the northern and southern sectors of the municipality. This improved positioning also fosters better metropolitan coordination with neighboring Bahía de Banderas, creating a more unified safety network for residents and visitors alike.

By prioritizing these upgrades, the local government continues to focus on prevention and rapid assistance. The development of this state-of-the-art base serves as a testament to the ongoing efforts to modernize the city’s emergency services and ensure that first responders have the resources they need to serve the public effectively.
