Puerto Vallarta residents have a new opportunity to clear out old technology and protect their local environment during a city-wide recycling event this month.
From March 11th to 13th, the Environmental Sustainability Department is hosting a collection campaign designed to ensure that electronic waste is handled with care and kept out of regular trash.
Under the direction of Mayor Luis Munguía, this initiative focuses on providing the community with a reliable way to dispose of devices that no longer serve a useful purpose in the home.
Electronic waste often contains materials that can pollute soil and water if not handled properly. By offering accessible drop-off locations, the city aims to strengthen a culture of recycling and encourage responsible environmental practices among residents.
The program is scheduled to run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. To ensure every neighborhood has a convenient way to contribute, the government has established five temporary collection points across the municipality:
Agustín Flores Contreras Sports Complex
Municipal Administrative Unit (UMA)
La Lija Sports Complex
Ixtapa Main Plaza
Las Palmas Delegation Main Plaza
Residents may bring computers, televisions, cell phones, complete major appliances, power tools, cameras, cables, and other electronic components. All items must be delivered complete and free of liquids or chemicals. Disassembled devices and non-electronic materials will not be accepted.
This initiative does more than just clear out closet space; it strengthens a local culture of sustainability. By working together, the municipal government and the citizens of Puerto Vallarta are ensuring that the city remains a beautiful, healthy place for current and future generations.
