7th Circo pa’l Barrio Festival Brings Free Shows to PV

Puerto Vallarta is preparing to welcome families and young audiences to the 7th International Circo pa’l Barrio and Patita Salada Festival arrives this week. Running from April 15th to 19th, this five-day celebration brings a diverse array of local and global talent to the region, offering residents and visitors a chance to experience the wonder of professional circus arts at no cost.

Organizers and municipal representatives recently presented the festival program, highlighting its mission to make arts and culture accessible to all ages while encouraging creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. Activities will be held at schools, parks, and community spaces in Colonias Volcanes and Mojoneras, as well as at Hidalgo Park and the Municipal Stadium. These sessions allow young people to explore new physical disciplines while fostering a sense of community and personal growth.

Special exhibition shows are scheduled at the Los Arcos del Malecón amphitheater on Thursday and Saturday at 8:00 pm. On Sunday, families can enjoy an afternoon and evening of performances, presentations, and entertainment beginning at 5:00 pm at Los Arcos. These performances will feature a lineup of seasoned professionals who have spent decades honing their craft on the global stage.

Among the featured artists is the international pairing known as Duo de Luz. Comprised of Alice Keenan from England and Rodrigo Adame from Mexico, the duo combines acting, dance, and acrobatics with a sophisticated light show. Their presence highlights the festival’s international reach, as they bring experience gained from touring four continents in just two years.

Joining them is Tissue Nandayapa, a Mexican aerial specialist with two decades of experience in street theater and circus arts. Having performed in 25 countries, Nandayapa is recognized for her technical mastery and her commitment to teaching aerial skills to the next generation. The roster also includes fire performance expert Cedrik Jauregui and multidisciplinary artist Montserrat Díaz, who specializes in the unique arts of hula hooping and bubble manipulation.

Municipal leaders have voiced strong support for the event, noting that such festivals are essential for social integration. Councilwoman María Laurel Carrillo Ventura noted that these artistic platforms provide vital access to theater, dance, and music in areas where such opportunities might otherwise be limited. By bringing these disciplines directly into local neighborhoods, the festival encourages discipline and perseverance among participants.

Festival organizer Juan Pablo Vázquez, known as “Papos,” emphasized that the project’s core mission is to create lasting opportunities for children through the arts. This vision is supported by the municipal government under Mayor Luis Munguía, reflecting a city-wide dedication to making high-quality cultural experiences accessible to everyone.

The public can find the complete festival schedule through the social media accounts Circo Pa’l Barrio México – Circo Social and Circo Social Patita Salada PV.

All performances and workshops are free and open to the public, making this colorful celebration of circus arts an accessible experience for families across Puerto Vallarta.
