Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit, Mexico – The Riviera Nayarit Conventions and Visitors Bureau is elated to announce that Mexico’s Pacific Treasure is open and ready to welcome back international travelers.
As of June 15, hotels, restaurants and businesses in the Riviera Nayarit’s tourism sector are allowed to reopen, strictly abiding by protocols and health measures put forth by state officials and operating at 30% capacity to ensure safe social distancing on property including in common areas and pools.
“We are excited to begin reopening our doors to international travelers who can rest assured Riviera Nayarit is prioritizing the health and safety of visitors and locals alike,” said Marc Murphy, managing director for the Riviera Nayarit CVB. “The last couple of months we have been working hand in hand with the state of Nayarit to determine a set of regulations mandatory for local establishments to reopen safely, and are beyond grateful for the support we have received from destination partners thus far. We’ve seen them invest in implementing these changes in their establishments, helping us continue to raise the bar as it relates to implementing best practices in tourism and sustainability.”
Some businesses and services in the Riviera Nayarit’s tourism sector are gradually reopening in the upcoming weeks as they finalize preparations to safely welcome back visitors. Travelers should contact preferred service providers directly to confirm dates and details before booking.
Air connectivity from the United States to Riviera Nayarit’s nearest airport, Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR), is gradually being reinstated with airlines operating flight routes including daily flights on American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, United Airlines, and weekly flights on Delta Airlines. Additionally, PVR airport will be temperature monitoring all passenger arrivals and departures via thermal imaging cameras.

After careful review of the Riviera Nayarit’s Tourism Wellness and Best Practices Guide, Mexico’s Pacific Treasure joined the list of global destinations that have earned the World Travel & Tourism Council’s highly-regarded Safe Travel Stamp.
Granted to destinations and hotels around the world that have adopted health and hygiene protocols outlined by the WTTC, the seal is a testament to the destination’s commitment to elevating the region’s safety and sanitation standards and restoring consumer confidence to visit Mexico’s Pacific treasure.
