Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The Puerto Vallarta Garden Club supports not only a more beautiful, clean and verdant city, but is making it more attractive to tourism, thus creating a vibrant economy to support all the other great causes in Puerto Vallarta. Here’s the latest news from the PVGC:
Dear Members and Friends,
Please join us online or in person on Tuesday, April 20 at 4:00 CST for this season’s final membership presentation. Our speaker is Fabian Reyes of Mariposa Jardin Magico – Puerto Vallarta’s first Butterfly Sanctuary.
Learn about how Puerto Vallarta’s first butterfly sanctuary was developed from a dry clay field in Colonia Campo Verde (about 30 minutes outside Vallarta) into a glorious haven for all kinds of butterflies.
We will watch the release of newly born butterflies, learn what they eat and follow them on their transformation into adulthood. There are 20 species of local butterflies in the sanctuary today. The sanctuary focuses on educating visitors about these elusive fragile creatures, and inspiring people to understand them and promote awareness and protection in our diverse ecosystem. The sanctuary’s decor focuses on recycling and sustainability, using such things as wine bottles, old cabinets, PVC pipes and oil containers to name a few.
The team at Incanto is helping us stream this meeting from the piano bar. You can join from anywhere… just go to the Incanto Facebook page and choose “Like and Follow”. When the stream starts (think Garden Club TV) you’ll see a notice to click and join. At that point you will be able to see the presentation. Facebook is the only format available to us.
Tracy has opened the club to guests, so if you are in PV, drop by for a refreshment on the patio starting at 3:30. We’ll move upstairs for the meeting about 3:55. Limit is 25 masked and separated garden lovers.
If you plan to watch the presentation from home, make your own refreshment and toast with us. You can leave a tip of support for their AV staff and bartenders via PayPal. Instructions will be on the screen.
