Act2PV’s three owners are very proud and creative men who also happen to be part of the Gay Community of Puerto Vallarta. They are definitely an “explosion of gay-ety” when it comes to being creative!
May is Gay Pride Month in Puerto Vallarta, and Act2PV has created an entire month of CREATIVE CELEBRATION! The “Very Best of Drag” will be performed at Act2PV during the month of May, with the iconic “head of the class,” Hedda Lettuce, starring in her headliner show, “Tossed Salad,” on Thursday nights! This “Goddess of Green” tosses out the perfect mix of fresh, crisp improvisational comedy, bawdy and biting wit, light dancing and lush, live (NOT lip-synched) singing!
Opening on May 7, “Keeping Up with Karma” (featuring drag diva, Karma La Perra) tackles the world of pop stars and paparazzi, as well as trashy tabloids and all the juicy headlines. You need to ask yourself… Did Britney shave her head, or was it really Karma, the long-lost love child of Marilyn Monroe and Rock Hudson? Karma is amazing with her live vocals, and tickets are available on the website for 45% off on her first shows!
On Sunday, May 9, Act2PV presents “Diego Guerrero Birthday Bash” (One Night Only!) with the smooth-voiced and very handsome Diego Guerrero, singing the music of Jose Jose in “Loving and Loving.”
On May 10th, world champion pole dancer, America’s Got Talent Semifinalist, and star of the blockbuster hit, “LIMITLESS,” Steven Retchless, introduces his alter ego, “Stevie Hart,” in an exciting new drag show! Featuring beautiful live vocals, this stunningly gorgeous, larger-than-life diva will mesmerize you with her sultry voice, sensual dancing, and fiery / heart-warming comedy & story-telling that will make you laugh and cry. As she wraps her long legs (and 8-inch heels) around the audience, “Stevie Hart” is a drag show that you will never forget. It is what drag is all about.
The original hit musical, Mamma Mia! returns to Act2PV’s Main Stage on Friday, May 14, with the full cast, after a record 58 sold-out performances until it was closed at the start of the pandemic. Mamma Mia!, the most exciting production in PV History, is inspired and enhanced by a passel of well-known ABBA tunes! It is a “feel-good” kind of show that will make you want to sing along to the familiar songs.
Sophie, the 20-year old bride, is planning to get married in a little hotel on a Greek island where she has worked with her single mother, Donna, her whole life. Unbeknownst to Donna, Sophie has longed to find the father she has never known. After accidentally finding and reading her mother’s diary, she finds clues that point to three lovers from her mom’s “free-spirited” past that “might” be her father. Sophie secretly invites all three of these men to her wedding, and hilarity ensues! This delightful story features lots of nostalgic singing and dancing, as well as a HUGE cast, with a creative and colorful set design, beautiful, custom-created costumes, and brilliant choreography.
Also in May, Vallarta’s sexiest star, Marc Lopez, adds layers of sex appeal to his hit show, “Crooners,” with a lot less clothes and a lot more hits! International and Broadway star Kevin Anthony opens his Lionel Ritchie/Stevie Wonder show on May 16.
Every gay community needs a Queen and PV has no bigger Queen than the hugely popular Diana Villamonte, star of “Whitney & Warwick” on Mondays! Now, just in time for Pride, Diana will appear in a brand-new show with her uber sexy co-star, Victor Do Esperito, in “A Foreigners Journey,” featuring the iconic music of the rock bands, Foreigner and Journey.
Kimberly LaRue brings “sexy” back in style with her two Follies shows, “Follies LaRouge” on Sunday nights, and “Follies Arriba” on Thursday nights. featuring sexy dancers, Burlesque and Broadway. Continuing shows include the Linda Ronstadt show featuring Brenda Gaviño which moves to Tuesdays at 7:30 pm in May, and Us Two continues to bring you the best of Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles on Wednesdays!
The Greatest Show on Earth, now featured in Act2PV’s OUTDOOR Starlight Cabaret, has rolled out a whole new style of entertainment, and it’s definitely a HIT (as evidenced by its FULL AUDIENCES every week)! Inspired by the Don Comalon restaurant in Colima, on Wednesday nights, people can see a FREE SHOW which features performances by many of its amazing entertainers. Sometimes they sing songs from their shows, but very often, they “go rogue” with new show ideas, and they can also sing songs that they love!
FREE FOOD is served, starting with fresh hot chips and bean dip when you walk in the door. Each time a drink is ordered, more food is brought out, such as tacos con carne molida, deep-fried potato tacos, chicken flautas and guacamole tostadas! The more you drink, the more you eat! Everyone loves this new concept, the show is entertaining, and the food is outstanding! The new show time is Wednesdays at 7:30 pm.
