Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – It was another exciting evening for everyone present as Act2PV opened the season on Monday, November 14, with its #1 show, The Best of Broadway. There were so many friends of Act2PV there, both old and new, and everyone loved the mega-talented cast in this heartwarming presentation of Broadway music that we all know and love!
Cassandra Shaw’s Starlight Cabaret Grand Opening

MAMMA MIA! Opening on Thursday, December 1!
Mamma Mia! (the original Broadway musical production) returns to Act2PV’s Main Stage for its 4 th blockbuster year! The most exciting production in PV history, Mamma Mia! inspired and enhanced by a whole passel of well-known ABBA tunes. You probably know the story… Sophie, the 20-year old bride, is planning to get married in a little hotel on a Greek island where she has worked with her single mother, Donna, her whole life. Unbeknownst to Donna, Sophie has longed to find the father she has never known. After accidentally finding and reading her mother’s old diary, she finds clues that point to three lovers from her mom’s “free-spirited” past that “might” be her father. Sophie secretly invites all three of these men to her wedding and hilarity ensues! This delightful story features lots of nostalgic singing and dancing, as well as a HUGE cast, a creative and colorful set design, beautiful custom-created costumes, and brilliant choreography. Make it a family affair… THIS SHOW IS GOOD FOR ALL AGES!

Brenda Gaviño performs an exciting tribute to one of music’s most iconic and celebrated artists of all time, Grammy Winner, Amy Winehouse. Amy was a badass Jewish girl, whose signature beehive hair and distinctive Cleopatra-style eye makeup, combined with her powerful, husky and sultry voice, earned her a swathe of devastated fans when she died tragically at age 27. Amy’s talent was in her ability to touch people with her brutally honest, powerful, and emotionally moving lyrics with rich melodies. She wrote songs about problems she had in her own life and making something good out of them.
Brenda (star of The Best of Broadway and Linda Ronstadt) is a talented musician who has proven that she can sing it all… pop, rock, opera, Broadway, soul, and more. Honoring one of her favorite artists with this tribute show, Brenda has the uncanny ability to morph herself into the persona of the artist. With her long, black hair and tiny frame, as well as her powerful voice and replica outfits and staging, Brenda and her band bring the essence of Amy back to life by celebrating the beauty of Amy’s incredible live performances.
