Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – On Wednesday, November 9, Act2PV proudly opened its doors once again for its Grand Re-Opening Celebration. After being closed for three months, this was the perfect start to the brand-new 2022/2023 season. The event sold out (with people begging for tickets) just two hours after it was posted! The audience was excited, the performers were excited, the wait staff was excited… there was an electricity in the air like never before!
Act2PV welcomed the crowd with a wonderful cocktail party that featured hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, live entertainment and home-baked sweet treats prepared by some of their most loyal customers. Then the audience was delighted with the special “sneak peek” performances of many of Act2PV’s upcoming shows for the new season!
The past several years have been extremely difficult for Act2PV. Then, with the passing of its founder, Danny Minnini, Act2PV’s future was at stake. But, thanks to the efforts of the hard-working fundraising committee (spear-headed by Sharon Gerber Scherer), enough money was raised to keep Act2PV’s doors open through the summer. The money also helped Act2PV prepare for an incredible new season of shows. Act2PV will be forever grateful to the many sponsors who stepped up to the plate with donations and hopes that you will thank them as well!
Puerto Vallarta has recently become an “entertainment destination.” Thousands of people come to town every year, and Act2PV has had a lot to do with this. As the ONLY 5-STAR venue in town, Act2PV is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with its biggest and best season ever! Many people actually plan their trips around the shows that Act2PV has on its schedule.

Creating a “Best of Broadway” show was the lifelong dream of Act2PV’s late founder, Danny Mininni. His dream came true when he created and directed this show, along with Marsha Ward Ross, Edgar Román and Alfonso López. Returning for its 4th exciting year, Act2PV’s “Best of Broadway” features Brenda Gaviño (star of Linda Ronstadt, Amy Winehouse and Opera Concert), Victor Do Espirito, (star of Bruno Mars and Beatles), Ximena Peña Esparza, (star of It’s Britney, B*tch and Some Like It Hot), Gabriela Heart, (star of Supreme), and Edgar Roman, Act2PV’s incredibly talented choreographer and producer of many Act2PV shows! New to the cast this year is Ryan Shergold, a trained musician with television and theatrical experience!
The “Best of Broadway” showcases favorite songs from A Chorus Line, Grease, Dream Girls, Funny Girl, Les Miserables, Wicked, Cats, Sound of Music and many more! Linda Ronstadt is referred to as the “Queen of Rock,” and was voted the Top Female Pop Singer of the 1970s. Due to popular demand, Act2PV’s talented Brenda Gaviño brings back her much-loved Linda Ronstadt show. Brenda has always had a special affinity for Ronstadt’s timeless music. Brenda’s stunning likeness, as well as her beautiful, clear voice, refreshing smile and tremendous vocals, is the perfect combination to take on such an iconic performer! Singing songs such as Blue Bayou, When Will I be Loved, You’re No Good, this show is a true celebration of the music of a rock legend!
Queens of Country
A musical and comedic tribute to the tunes you love… or love to hate!
OPENING NIGHT – Friday, November 18 at 6:00 pm
Queens of Country is a celebration of music that transcends its genre. “I hate country, but I love these songs!” is the refrain, and now Canadian-born Bobbi Goddard (and her band) is back again! Season #2 brings more country classics, but this time, with a little bit of “naughty” …part stand-up comedy, part one-woman show, ALL LIVE! They are making country COOL again. With all new songs, Queens of Country 2.0 runs the gamut from Joni Mitchell to Janis Joplin, with a whole lot of honky tonk in between. Expect to hear music from the reigning queen, Miss Dolly Parton, alongside K.D. Lang, Miranda Lambert, The Chicks, Shania Twain, and even a Highwayman or two. Local country favorites, Bobbi and The Others will keep you laughing, keep you guessing, and most definitely have y’all singing along. Remember, all you country music fans….
