Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, México – For more than a decade, Puerto Vallarta has embraced a tradition that mixes bold comedy with a powerful purpose. On March 8th at 8:00 pm, Teatro Vallarta will host the 12th annual What A Drag! fundraiser, one of the region’s most anticipated nights of entertainment.
Behind the heavy makeup, sparkling sequins, sky-high heels, and fearless humor is a serious mission: supporting Casa Esperanza, a shelter that provides safety and hope to women and children escaping domestic violence. Every laugh and standing ovation helps fund vital services for families rebuilding their lives.
The show has become a local favorite, famous for its musical comedy format where some of Puerto Vallarta’s bravest straight men trade in their everyday attire for wigs, glitter, and high heels – all for one unforgettable night of charity. It’s a spectacle that draws cheers, sparks conversation, and reminds the community what can happen when people step up for a cause.
This year’s lineup of participating local entertainers continues to grow, adding even more star power to an already exciting evening.

One of several standout headliners set to take the stage is Ada Vox, a powerhouse performer known for delivering moments that leave audiences breathless. As part of a lineup filled with popular local favorites and special guests, she brings national acclaim and unmistakable star power to this year’s celebration.
Influenced by legends such as Selena, Whitney Houston, and Aretha Franklin, Ada brings both vocal power and emotional depth to the stage. She has shared her gift at major Pride festivals, national tours, and benefit events supporting organizations like Human Rights Campaign and the San Antonio AIDS Foundation.
Her popular YouTube covers, including “Shallow” from A Star Is Born, have earned widespread praise – but fans agree that experiencing her live is even more powerful. Locally, audiences can catch Ada every Wednesday at 5 pm at Coco Cabaret.

Also joining the lineup is Fernandrag, recognized as Puerto Vallarta’s first Mexican drag queen opera singer. In just two years, she has built a strong following thanks to her remarkable vocal strength and commanding stage presence. She has performed at respected venues including Act2PV, The Top Sky Bar, and Galería Corsica, and has toured nationally across Mexico.
A multiple singing competition winner, including KWC, Fernandrag also holds the title of Absolute Queen of Cantina Catrina, where she continues to captivate audiences. Inspired by the glamour and vocal strength of classic divas, she delivers performances that demand attention from the first note to the final bow.
What a Drag! organizers extend heartfelt thanks to every artist donating their time and talent to benefit Casa Esperanza Women’s Shelter. Their generosity reflects the spirit of a community that stands together in support of those who need it most.
Don’t wait – tickets are on sale now! Secure your seats early for the best views in the house and help us make this a complete sellout. Every peso raised goes directly to Casa Esperanza, providing safety, shelter, and new beginnings for women and children escaping domestic violence. Last year alone, What A Drag helped fund more than half of Casa Esperanza’s annual budget – proof that laughter and compassion truly change lives.
Join the fun. Make this the best year yet!
