Airbnb Highlights Vallarta as Top LGBTQ+ Friendly Destination

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – As part of Pride Month, celebrated each June, Airbnb has released new data highlighting the world’s most LGBTQ+ friendly cities. This analysis, based on ten years of host listings and customer reviews, identified the top 10 destinations for LGBTQ+ travelers.

The list includes Toronto, San Diego, Puerto Vallarta, Wilton Manors in Florida, Paris, Madrid, Chicago, Seattle, New York, and London. These cities were recognized for their welcoming environments and inclusive language in local Airbnb listings and reviews.

Airbnb’s commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ community is evident in its efforts to create a safe and inclusive space for both travelers and hosts. A recent study found that 41 percent of LGBTQ+ travel respondents use Airbnb, which is 8% higher than the overall percentage of American leisure travelers.

Since 2017, there has been a 90% increase in hosts using inclusive language, showing a strong trend towards more welcoming accommodations. This positive shift has greatly enhanced the travel experience for LGBTQ+ guests.

Luis Villaseñor, general director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Promotion Trust, praised the city’s warm hospitality and inclusive atmosphere. Puerto Vallarta, a leading LGBTQ+ beach destination in Mexico, owes its reputation to the city’s vibrant gay and gay-friendly business community that understands and caters to the needs of LGBTQ+ travelers.

Airbnb’s findings underscore the importance of inclusivity and hospitality, making these cities top choices for LGBTQ+ travelers worldwide.
