Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Alaska Airlines is set to enhance travel options this winter by launching direct flights from four new U.S. cities to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Starting in January 2025, these new routes will provide increased connectivity and convenience for travelers, adding an impressive 1,200 seats per week to this popular destination through April.
The schedule for these new flights is as follows:
New York to Puerto Vallarta: Four times a week from January 8, 2025, to April 20, 2025.
Sacramento to Puerto Vallarta: Once a week from January 11, 2025, to April 19, 2025.
Kansas City to Puerto Vallarta: Once a week from January 18, 2025, to April 5, 2025.
St. Louis to Puerto Vallarta: Once a week from January 18, 2025, to April 5, 2025.
This expansion strengthens Puerto Vallarta’s position as a leading tourist destination in North America. “This new commitment by Alaska Airlines solidifies Puerto Vallarta’s appeal to North American travelers,” said Luis Villasenor, director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust. “It positions our city to maintain its status as the third busiest airport in Mexico for international arrivals.”
The positive impact extends beyond Puerto Vallarta. According to Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico, Alaska Airlines will open a total of six new international routes for three of its Mexican airport terminals. In addition to Puerto Vallarta, they will become the first U.S. carrier to offer daily mainline flights between Fresno, California, and Guadalajara, Mexico. They will also expand their Los Cabos service with five weekly nonstop flights from Sacramento and become the only U.S. airline to offer service to La Paz and flights between Monterrey and Los Angeles.
“At Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico, we prioritize diversifying and expanding flight options at our airports,” said Raúl Revuelta Musalem, general director of GAP. “This growth strategy benefits both our terminals and the passengers who choose to travel with us. Our goal is to provide exceptional connectivity and an enhanced travel experience for everyone exploring Mexico.”
As of June 2024, Puerto Vallarta’s airport serves 49 routes, including 13 domestic and 36 international, reinforcing its status as one of Mexico’s premier travel hubs.
