Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The long-awaited Amado Nervo Bridge project is moving forward as Nayarit Governor Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero announced that the bidding process will begin this month. This major infrastructure development will strengthen the connection between Bahía de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta, spanning the towns of San Vicente and Ixtapa. With an estimated investment of 900 million pesos, the bridge is expected to be completed in 2027.
Previously known as the Federation Bridge, the project was officially renamed the Amado Nervo Bridge on December 28, 2024, during a visit by President Claudia Sheinbaum. Once completed, the 1.8-kilometer bridge will significantly enhance mobility and commercial flow between Nayarit and Jalisco, reducing travel times and fostering economic growth in the region.
Governor Navarro Quintero emphasized that the project is a crucial step in modernizing the region’s road infrastructure. “With this project, we are strengthening the economic and social relationship between Bahía de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta,” he stated. The bridge will facilitate the transportation of goods, improve accessibility for tourists, and support regional development.
The upcoming bidding process will determine the company responsible for executing the project, ensuring high-quality construction and adherence to the planned timeline. The federal government, under President Sheinbaum, has backed the initiative as part of a broader strategy to enhance infrastructure and economic progress in the region.
With its potential to improve connectivity and boost commerce, the Amado Nervo Bridge stands as a transformative project that will benefit residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
