Broadway Cares Supports SETAC Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The founder of S.E.T.A.C., Ed Thomas, recently announced that Mr. Tom Viola, the Executive Director of Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS, has pledged a $20,000 USD matching grant to help Puerto Vallarta’s LGBT Community and Wellness Center keep their doors open and their services uninterrupted.

“As you probably know, 11 years ago we opened up a gay community center here in Puerto Vallarta. The goal at the time was to help some of our younger citizens who were into addictions, prostitution and huffing any chemical they could get their hands on, to see that their lives didn’t have to be that way.

We have since come a long way, thanks to your generous support and donations. We have grown into a full-scale health and wellness center serving Vallarta’s LGBTQ Community, and three years ago, the United Nations came to us to be part of an international research protocol on PrEP.

As an independent non-profit “asociación civil,” we rely completely on donations to keep our doors open, so you can imagine how the COVID-19 pandemic has devastated us and our programs this year.

I’d like to invite you to take just four minutes to watch the video above from our friend Tom Viola, the executive director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, who has made a $20K matching grant to help keep our doors open and our services uninterrupted.

The video explains some of SETAC’s services and why Broadway Cares has been involved with us over these years. If you can see it to make a donation of any size, it will be fully matched by Tom’s generous matching grant.

Also if you know any friends who may be interested in what we are doing in Puerto Vallarta, Please feel free to share this with them. Every cup of coffee counts. All donations make a big difference.”

Many thanks,
Ed Thomas
