Celebrate Children’s Day at Vallarta Botanical Garden

Celebrate Children’s Day at Vallarta Botanical Garden

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – On Tuesday, April 30th, families are invited to celebrate Children’s Day with a day of fun and discovery at the Vallarta Botanical Garden. From colorful flowers and winding trails to playful butterflies fluttering by, the garden offers the perfect setting for kids to connect with nature and imagination.

The celebration begins at 11:00 am with a kids’ movie screening complete with popcorn. Following this cinematic treat, at 12:30 pm, young artists can unleash their creativity during a dedicated coloring session. From 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, the excitement continues with gentle pony rides available for children near the tranquil pond.

While adult entry is $300 MXN, children enjoy free admission, and members of the garden also enter at no charge. It’s an ideal opportunity to bring the whole family and create memories surrounded by natural beauty.

Children’s Day, or Día del Niño, has been celebrated in Mexico every April 30th since 1924, when President Álvaro Obregón and Education Minister José Vasconcelos established the holiday to highlight children’s rights and support their well-being. Vasconcelos believed that every school should feel like a palace, especially for those most in need – a space where children could build joyful memories.

This year, the Vallarta Botanical Garden carries that spirit forward by offering a day full of simple pleasures and outdoor adventures, reminding everyone of the magic found in childhood and the importance of nurturing it.

Visit the internationally famous Vallarta Botanical Garden located just 30 minutes south of Old Town at Km. 24 on Highway 200 and easily accessible by public transportation and taxi. This 135 hectares wildlife preserve and botanical garden have something fun for everyone. Over 200 species of birds have been observed on the Garden’s grounds. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit for a refreshing dip in the jungle river. See plantings of vanilla, chocolate, and hundreds of other botanical delights! Authentic Mexican Cuisine is served in the Hacienda de Oro Restaurant from 10 am to 5 pm. The Garden is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm (closed Mondays from April 1 to December 1). Garden admission is just $300 pesos. For more information, call (322) 223-6182 or visit vbgardens.org.
