Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – On Monday, December 29 at 6:00 pm, Vallarta’s beloved musical trio CelloVoci will realize one of their biggest dreams. The ensemble – comprised of powerhouse soprano Effie Passero of Postmodern Jukebox and American Idol fame, and acclaimed duo Branden & James – will perform their debut concert at the city’s premier performing arts venue, Teatro Vallarta, in the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood.
Branden James, an America’s Got Talent finalist and former principal tenor with The Metropolitan Opera, joins Australian cellist James Clark, who has performed with global stars such as Idina Menzel and Olivia Newton-John. With the addition of Effie Passero’s remarkable voice, this dynamic trio was born.
Hosted by renowned New York City drag performer Sutton Lee Seymour, and under the musical direction of cabaret star Mark Hartman, the trio promises an unforgettable evening. Their “soaring vocals and dazzling cello” (NPR review) will be accompanied by a live chamber orchestra, pyrotechnics, and stage direction by Christopher De Ande.
Branden & James are celebrating their tenth season performing in Puerto Vallarta – the city where they built an international following and exchanged wedding vows in 2018. Their success has since taken them to concert halls, clubs, and cruise ships around the world.
Effie Passero, a full-time Banderas Bay resident, was recently named “Best Voice in Puerto Vallarta” and praised by Entertainment Weekly for her “insanely powerful voice.” A global touring artist with Postmodern Jukebox, she continues to captivate local audiences with sold-out shows across the region.
CelloVoci’s Night Divine will light up Teatro Vallarta’s 900-seat stage in a grand celebration sponsored by several leading local businesses, including Casita & Garden, Thrive IV & MedSpa, Let’s Pho Vietnamese Cuisine, Lix Ice Cream, and Pepe & Charlie Private Chefs. The evening is expected to draw Puerto Vallarta’s most prominent community figures and arts supporters.
Inspired by their recent sold-out debut at Carnegie Hall, the concert’s first act will feature soulful renditions of beloved holiday classics. The second act will ignite the stage with powerful interpretations of songs from Moulin Rouge, Rent, Andrea Bocelli, Coldplay, The Eagles, Leonard Cohen, and more.
“I love the residents here – they are my family,” says Passero. “This night is a culmination of all the blood, sweat, and tears that the three of us have poured into this beloved city. It will be a joyous celebration with our incredible community as we ring in the New Year and look to brighter times ahead.”
For those seeking a truly special holiday experience, CelloVoci’s Night Divine promises to be the must-see concert of the season.
Teatro Vallarta, nestled in the heart of Puerto Vallarta, continues to enchant audiences with world-class performances in a modern, elegant setting that reflects the city’s enduring commitment to the arts.
