December 2024 News from PuRR Project Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The latest news from PuRR Project, a non-profit, no-kill feline shelter just north of Puerto Vallarta that provides homeless cats and kittens a recuperative stay with the ultimate goal of adopting them out to loving homes sterilized, vaccinated and disease free.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Saturday Market: We’ll be at our post just outside Daiquiri Dicks on December 14, 21 & 28. We will NOT be there on Dec. 7 as that is the day of the big Garage Sale fundraiser! So come on by between 10:00am-1:00pm and get your 2025 PuRR Project calendar or one of our logo T-shirts, mugs, caps, drink holders or cat dish towels before Christmas.

Garage Sale: Saturday, December 7th! The annual event that everyone is waiting for! Doors open at 9:00 and we have a lot of good “stuff” at good prices. The address is Gaviotas 143, Marina Vallarta. You can check our Facebook page for a map. All proceeds go directly for food and medicine for the 300+ cats and kittens at the PuRR Project shelter.

Kitty Bingo: The only BINGO scheduled for December is on Wednesday the 11th. (The next one would fall on Christmas Day and Nacho Daddy is closed. So mark your PuRR Calendar and join us on the 11th at 4:00 for some fun and a chance to win a great prize or maybe the 50/50 Raffle!

VIRTUAL ADOPTIONS

A Virtual Adoption cat would make a great Christmas gift for yourself or a cat-loving friend or family member! They are usually older cats that have little hope of finding a Forever Home. Many were just passed over for adoption as kittens and others are feral or have a disability such as one eye. For only $120 you can help us continue to give these adult cats a safe home and medical care for life. You can learn how to virtually adopt and also meet all the candidates by going to our website or writing us at adopt(at)purrproject.com

PURR PROJECT 2026 CALENDAR

Yes! We are already planning our 2026 calendar and we want YOUR photos of your adopted PuRR kitty! The holidays are approaching and this is a great opportunity to get some really nice festive colorful shots. But remember that our calendar has 12 months + a cover so you can send some of your best shots from this past summer, fall or last spring. The more original and fun the image, the better chance your cat has of being featured.

Photos must be taken at largest possible size or in RAW, in horizontal format (landscape), not edited, not cropped or downsized and must be sent as an ATTACHMENT. Send all entries, before April 15, 2025, to Linda at: info(at)purrproject.com We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Be sure to check THIS PAGE for great tips and guidelines to increase your chances of getting your furry baby’s pic selected.

ADOPTIONS

Sadly, we only had 3 adoptions in November with the PetCo Adoption Center closed for two weekends. We have SO many kittens that would love to go “Home For The Holidays”! December could be the PuRR-fect month for you to choose your new furry companion. We will bring adoptable, vaccinated and sterilized felines to PetCo every Saturday and Sunday this month, so please consider giving one of them a Forever Home.

GRACIAS! THANKS! MERCI! DANKE! ARIGATO!

We send a Big Thank You to Steve Stowell, Nina & Nosh Vellani, Annie Dodge and Ron & Ellen Chang for their generous donations last month! As always, we are grateful for those monthly donors who are so essential to our success: The McCullough Family Gift Fund, Gary Phillips, Sharon & Ken Rose, Terri & Gray Levy, Joanne Bryla, Trisha Aljoe, Pat & Sandy Glenn, Catherine Goglia & Jim Shoemaker, Karen & Walt Trolson, Jerry Petrizzo, Heidi Benedict, Timothy Oleno, Larry Sherwood, Mary & Bob Fitzgerald, Robert Weed, David Flannery, Elizabeth Fuerherm, Janice North and Thomas Bleuer.
