Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The votes have been cast and tallied – the Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas’ first social gathering in over 20 loooong months was a resounding success! (Our last happy hour was on October 16, 2019!)
Held on Sunday, the 4th of July at Blondies Loft + Slushbar on Pulpito in Amapas, just over 40 DACB members who had RSVP’d gathered to raise a toast to America’s birthday and to vaccines, the latter of which at long last allowed us to safely socialize with our like-minded Democratic brothers and sisters.
Dipping our toe in the water, our first social gathering was limited to 40 members in a super-safe space, the lofty, open-air upstairs at Blondies, with great service by Juan Carlos and Diego. Generous attendees donated $2920 pesos (about $147 USD) for DACB coffers.
Now that we have our first event successfully behind us, the DACB board is working on planning future events, including the ever-popular happy hours.
While the next social gathering is still in the planning stages, DACB already has plans to re-start its ever-popular movie fundraising series beginning in November with current plans (subject to change) for once-a-week showings for 22 weeks.
