Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Every day DIF President Candelaria Tovar de Dávalos reaffirms her commitment to helping the city’s most vulnerable sectors survive the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the aim of continuing to provide quality care to the people of Puerto Vallarta who need it most, the Social Work area of the Municipal DIF System provides vulnerable Vallartans with comprehensive support that promotes fmily development and the overall well-being of society in general.
The Social Work coordinator, Ileana Luna, commented that the main function of this area of DIF is to investigate the situation that each person presents, and thus be able to make a diagnosis that allows establishing an intervention plan, according to the problem that each family manifests.
With the solidarity and collaboration of the local companies and people with big hearts who make in-kind donations, nutritional and other supports are distributed daily to the vulnerable families, from different neighborhoods of the municipality, who ask the organization for assistance.
During the last two weeks of January, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday, on-call personnel will attend to the needs of those presenting a copy of their INE, birth certificate and proof of address, giving priority to vulnerable sectors such as the elderly, people with disabilities and single or pregnant mothers, following all Covid-19 safety and hygienic measures.
