DIF Vallarta Joins the Telethon 2025 Fundraising Campaign

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – For the second year in a row, the Puerto Vallarta DIF System is leading the charge in the Telethon Foundation’s 2025 fundraising campaign. This inspiring initiative brings together public and private organizations across the city, all dedicated to supporting children facing disabilities, cancer, or autism.

Claudia Peña, president of the DIF System, is calling on the entire community to demonstrate their incredible generosity. “Whether it’s a lot or a little, the amount doesn’t matter,” Peña emphasized, “just join in this good cause.” Last year, the Municipal Government successfully raised over 150,000 pesos, and this year, the aim is to exceed that impressive sum, making an even greater impact on the lives of these deserving children.

The campaign officially kicked off with the distribution of 136 collection boxes to directors and councilors of the City Council, along with representatives from various educational institutions. Joanna Carrillo González, director of strategic alliances and fundraising for CRIT Occidente Teletón, expressed profound gratitude for Puerto Vallarta’s continued collaboration.

She highlighted the critical need for these funds, explaining that approximately 100 million pesos are required annually to operate and maintain the CRIT, which provides essential rehabilitation and therapy to individuals in need across Jalisco.

This year’s fundraising period runs from July to October, presenting a focused challenge due to the condensed timeline. However, the spirit of giving in Puerto Vallarta is strong. Donations can be made through traditional cash contributions in the specially marked collection boxes or, for added convenience, through a new QR code transfer option available on each box.

Numerous locations across the city are ready to accept donations, making it easy for everyone to contribute. These include the central offices of the Municipal DIF System, Municipal Markets, the Municipal Tourism Department, Social Participation, Seapal Vallarta, the Youth Department, Municipal Medical Services, as well as the Tepeyac Institute, Univa Campus Vallarta, and the Crown Paradise Hotel, among others.

This campaign is a testament to Puerto Vallarta’s unwavering commitment to its youngest and most vulnerable citizens. By coming together, the community can make a significant difference, offering hope and essential support to children and their families.
