Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta’s culinary scene dives headfirst into tradition with the 15th Festival del Ceviche y Aguachile. Mark your calendars for January 28th, as Hidalgo Park transforms into a vibrant fiesta of these iconic seafood dishes. From 12 pm to 8 pm, 14 restaurants battle it out with over 60 unique takes on ceviche and aguachile, each vying for your taste buds and the coveted jury’s approval.
Forget the textbook versions! Puerto Vallarta’s ceviche bursts with the unexpected – carrots, cucumber, cilantro, and local magic woven into every tangy bite. Over 60 varieties of both specialties will be served with tostadas, offering a diverse seafood experience to an anticipated crowd of more than 3,000. Vegans need not miss out, as there will be plant-based options available. Thirsty festival-goers can indulge in refreshing regional drinks, specialty cocktails with Mexican distillates, and ice-cold local craft beers, alongside delicious desserts and spicy salsas.
Beyond the culinary delights, the festival promises a feast for the senses, with live performances by local musicians and energetic DJs creating a lively atmosphere throughout the afternoon. Guest chefs from Peru, Colombia, Monterrey, and Puerto Vallarta will lend their expertise, judging the culinary creations and crowning the champions.
This isn’t just a friendly competition; it’s a celebration of Puerto Vallarta’s diverse culinary tapestry, woven by talented chefs and the city’s rich cultural heritage. So, come hungry, come thirsty, and come ready to discover the soul of Vallarta in every bite.
