El Pitillal to Get New Linear Park Connecting Sports and Nature

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta is set to welcome an exciting new sports and recreation project in El Pitillal. Mayor Luis Munguía’s administration is planning a linear park that will connect the Alfonso Díaz Santos Sports Unit with the Coapinole Lagoon, transforming the surrounding area of La Bobadilla.

During a recent visit to the Sports Unit, Munguía, along with state and municipal officials, discussed the details of the project, which will be officially presented in April. The proposed linear park will feature tree-lined paths, a tartan track, and other recreational facilities, enhancing the area for sports and leisure. Among the officials present were Fernando Ortega, director of the State Council for Sports Promotion (CODE Jalisco), and Andrea Blanco, Coordinator of Social Development.

This initiative could also become part of the Colmenas project, a broader effort by the Government of Jalisco, led by Governor Pablo Lemus. With an investment of 50 million pesos, Colmenas aims to strengthen communities, promote social harmony, and encourage the use of public spaces.

By revitalizing the surroundings of La Bobadilla and Coapinole Lagoon, this project will not only enhance the area’s natural beauty but also provide residents with improved recreational opportunities. Munguía’s administration continues to focus on community development, ensuring that public spaces serve as hubs for health, connection, and well-being.
