Enhanced Security Measures Set New Safety Standard for Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta is moving forward with renewed confidence as an expanded security strategy strengthens safety across the municipality. Since February 23, the city has remained completely peaceful, with no new incidents reported.

Tourism and daily life continue without interruption. Hotels, beaches, restaurants, and tour operators are operating normally, and transportation hubs are functioning at full capacity. Visitors are enjoying the destination’s world-class amenities, supported by coordinated efforts from local authorities to maintain stability and high service standards.

On Friday afternoon, a convoy of 40 tactical vehicles carrying 300 Army personnel arrived in the city, marking the beginning of a reinforced, long-term security presence. The deployment follows close collaboration between the municipal government and federal forces to further safeguard residents and visitors.

Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus, who led a State Security Council session at the PV International Convention Center last week, confirmed that these additional elements from the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) and the Mexican Navy are not merely passing through. Their mission is to ensure lasting peace through a coordinated and sustained presence.

Governor Lemus described the initiative as a joint intervention that brings together the intelligence and operational strength of federal, state, and municipal authorities. Under the leadership of Mayor Luis Munguía, the City Council has dedicated all available resources and local law enforcement to support surveillance and prevention efforts.

New mixed patrol units are already active in multiple sectors. These teams combine the Municipal Police’s local expertise with the specialized capabilities of the National Guard, Army, and Navy. This layered approach reinforces public safety and strengthens confidence for those who live in and visit this leading tourism destination.

Officials are encouraging residents and visitors to remain calm and rely on verified information from official channels. By working together and avoiding speculation, the community plays an important role in supporting ongoing efforts to protect Puerto Vallarta and preserve its standing as a premier international travel hub.
