Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – In honor of Earth Month and Children’s Day, Puerto Vallarta invites families to the “Our Planet, Our Power” Environmental Fair on Tuesday, April 29, from 10 am to 2 pm at Estero El Salado State Park.
Organized by the Environmental Sustainability Directorate and the park itself, the event offers a fun and educational experience designed to help children connect with nature and learn how to care for the environment.
Interactive booths will feature games about Puerto Vallarta’s local flora and fauna, as well as recycling and water conservation. Children can also take part in guided tours of the surrounding mangroves, learning firsthand about this unique ecosystem in the heart of the city’s hotel zone.
Estero El Salado, a protected natural area since 2000, spans 169 hectares – 135 of which are covered by mangroves and wetlands. This estuary, nourished by the Cuale and Ameca rivers, provides a rich habitat for tropical birds, crabs, reptiles, and even crocodiles.
Bartolo Cruz Romero, head of the Environmental Sustainability Directorate, highlighted the fair’s goal to inspire young minds to care for the planet through engaging activities. The initiative reflects the environmental commitment of Mayor Luis Munguía’s administration.
The fair is free and open to all children. With the 2025 Earth Month theme “For Earth, For Each Other, For Tomorrow,” this event is a perfect way for young people to explore nature, learn sustainable habits, and celebrate their role in building a better future.
