Expedia Recognizes Puerto Vallarta for its Commitment to Tourism

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – At the opening of the 2023 edition of Gala Riviera Nayarit-Puerto Vallarta, a leading event for the travel and tourism industry in the Mexican Pacific, Expedia recognized Puerto Vallarta for its commitment to the development of tourism in Mexico, once again consolidating itself as one of the main destinations with the highest attraction of national and international tourists.

A recent study by the travel platform revealed that Puerto Vallarta is on the list of the most sought-after sun and beach destinations by international travelers who want to escape the cold climates of the north, as well as disconnect from the bustle of the city and immerse themselves in an environment of nature and relaxation during the spring vacation period. It should be noted that last year Expedia recognized Jalisco, as it was the second State that generated the highest production in terms of the lodging sector.

“Puerto Vallarta started its participation in Gala Riviera Nayarit-Puerto Vallarta 2023 in a positive way, receiving recognition from Expedia for the destination’s commitment to the development of tourism in Mexico, which encourages the sector to continue working hand-in-hand with strategic allies and authorities in favor of the Port,” said Luis Villaseñor, director of the Public Trust for Tourism Promotion and Advertising of the Municipality of Puerto Vallarta.

The ‘Green Pearl of the Mexican Pacific’ was the number one sun and beach destination nationwide in hotel occupancy during the first holiday weekend of this year, it also registered the highest number of international passengers to the Puerto Vallarta International Airport in the month of January, surpassing all other air terminals operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico.
