Puerto Vallarta, México – As the new year begins, the Guarnieres, the family behind Galleria Dante, Di Vino Dante, and Pizza Joe 2.0 is welcoming 2026 with gratitude and creativity. With the return of seasonal artists and an array of new works arriving on the walls, the gallery invites residents and visitors to celebrate art, community, and fresh starts during two special evenings this month.
Meet the Artists Night and the South Side Shuffle take place on January 9 and 23, from 6 to 9 pm, in the heart of Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone. These editions of the South Side Shuffle offer a unique twist, as several artists will be creating works on site throughout the evenings. Guests are invited to stroll through the gallery, watch the creative process unfold, and enjoy conversations with the artists as they paint, sculpt, and assemble new pieces.
Live demonstrations will feature Jean Jacques Hudon painting, Gustavo Lopez sculpting, and Julia Swann working in mosaics. Also present will be Richard Gibbons, Louie Pisterzi, Jean Gabriel Lambert, Cherie Sibley, Tom Olesker, Bill Megrail, Marc Galipeau, Ana Tatya Neri, Gerald Gallant, and Luc Gauthier. New arrivals include works by Richard Gibbons, Louie Pisterzi, Walter Cruz, Jean Jacques Hudon, ML Boulanger, Noel de Rosal, Heather de Rosal, Donna Dickson, and Tom Dickson.
For more than 30 years, Galleria Dante has represented over 60 artists and built a reputation as one of the most eclectic galleries in the Romantic Zone. A family-run business spanning two generations, it combines art, food, and wine under one roof, offering worldwide insured shipping for collectors looking to add something special to their homes abroad.

Visitors are encouraged to make a day of it by heading upstairs to Di Vino Dante, the gallery’s second-floor wine and tapas bar. Open Monday through Saturday from 1 to 10 pm, Di Vino Dante serves lunch and dinner alongside an expansive tapas menu, with select two-for-one cocktails during happy hour from 1 to 5 pm. An elevator and air conditioning make the space comfortable, while the sculpture garden provides a relaxing spot to enjoy wine and small plates.
The story of the Dante family in Puerto Vallarta began in 1988, when Joe and Claire Guarniere opened the original Pizza Joe. That legacy continues today with Pizza Joe 2.0, now located on the rooftop above the gallery and wine bar. Open Monday through Saturday starting at 5:30 pm, the rooftop restaurant features outdoor dining, classic favorites, and plans for black-and-white silent films accompanied by music, creating a memorable al fresco experience.
These January events offer a chance to meet the artists, discover new works, and enjoy a memorable evening that blends creativity, conversation, and the enduring spirit of a Puerto Vallarta family business.

Open Mon-Fri from 10 am-5 pm, Galleria Dante is located at Basilio Badillo #269 in Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone. For more information, call (322) 222-2477, or send an email to info(at)galleriadante.com.
