Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone is set for a truly memorable evening as Galleria Dante presents a distinctive Meet the Artist Night. This time, the gallery will elevate the experience by having featured artists create their work live on-site during the show. Guests will have a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the creative process, watching as masters of various mediums develop new pieces right before their eyes.
The evening is a wonderful chance to connect with the talented individuals who contribute to the gallery’s extensive collection. Attendees are encouraged to talk with the artists, learn about their techniques, and simply have an enjoyable time observing their craft.
The roster of artists painting and working live includes Ricardo Sánchez Corona, Julia Swann, Romeo De la Cruz, Gustavo Lopez, Cherie Sibley, Bill Megrail, Marc Galipeau, and Sirpa.
A significant highlight of the night is the focus on two distinguished artists.
Spotlight on Watercolor Master Ricardo Sánchez Corona
The main gallery (Sala 1) will feature a special show by Ricardo Sánchez Corona, an accomplished Mexican Indigenous artist. Growing up in the chinampas of Xochimilco, he developed an early appreciation for the subtle details and colors of his surroundings, which now influences his art.
Although he initially studied architecture, a trip in 2020 unexpectedly led him to rediscover his passion for watercolor painting during the global lockdown. The strong, positive reaction to his work confirmed his new career path. Ricardo now successfully blends his architectural skill with his love for Mexican cultures and traditions.
His work has earned national recognition, including exhibitions at the National Watercolor Museum of Mexico, and he has received many honors. On October 31st, from 6–9 PM, Ricardo will unveil his annual Día de Muertos collection, showcasing twelve new watercolor paintings alongside a live demonstration.
The Intriguing Mosaics of Julia Swann
The gallery’s beautiful Garden area will feature the compelling mosaic art of Julia Swann. With an intuitive approach, Julia has mastered the intricate process of transforming broken pottery shards into unique, expressive pieces. Her art embodies a strong feminine spirit, turning pieces of fractured clay into a complex, colorful canvas. Each mosaic work is a pure piece of art, where every fragment carries a history now given a new personality, making her process an art form in itself.
After engaging with the artists, guests can head upstairs to the gallery’s 2nd & 3rd floor restaurants. Di Vino Dante offers an expansive menu of wine and tapas, while Pizza Joe 2.0, located on the rooftop, features an array of pastas and pizzas in a hidden oasis setting.
