Hermosillo, Mexico – GE Aerospace has announced a major 760 million peso investment to modernize its manufacturing plants in Hermosillo and Saltillo, signaling a strong long-term commitment to its operations and workforce in Mexico.
This new funding is designed to upgrade facilities, introduce advanced machinery, and improve distribution networks to successfully meet the rising global demand in the aviation sector.
The largest portion of the funding, totaling 725 million pesos, will be directed to the Hermosillo complex. According to plant leader Jonathan Ruiz, these projects are designed to boost operational capacity and elevate standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
The facility will integrate high-precision calibration and measurement tools to guarantee standardized, top-tier manufacturing processes. Additionally, the site will install large-scale machinery and material handling equipment alongside upgrades to employee spaces that focus on workplace safety and ergonomics.
The Saltillo plant, operated by GE Aerospace subsidiary Unison, will receive 35 million pesos to acquire new production equipment and refine its infrastructure.
Rodrigo Castro, the site leader in Saltillo, noted that these enhancements will optimize production flow and expand capabilities, allowing the team to deliver reliable, high-performance aerospace components on schedule.
This capital injection builds upon previous financial commitments, bringing the company’s total manufacturing investments in Mexico to nearly 1.3 billion pesos for the 2025–2026 period.
Beyond these two manufacturing hubs, the corporation continues to drive technological innovation through its engineering center in Querétaro, which has contributed to regional aerospace advancement for more than two decades.
