Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – A new generation of changemakers is stepping up in Puerto Vallarta through the Guardianes del Bien (“Guardians of Good”) project. This inspiring initiative, promoted by the Luis Munguía administration, gives young people the chance to complete their social service and professional internships while actively contributing to the community.
Launched by the Directorate of Quality of Life and Social Development, the project has partnered with schools and organizations to open doors for over 150 students so far. These youth volunteers are making a real impact through activities focused on environmental care, inclusion, and support for vulnerable groups.
One of their recent achievements includes three intensive cleanup days along the Cuale River, where they removed nearly 70 tons of trash to help protect this important part of Vallarta’s ecosystem. They also took part in Mexico’s National Beach and Coastal Cleanup and Conservation Day, showing their commitment to a cleaner and healthier environment.
Beyond environmental initiatives, the Guardians of Good have also touched hearts through acts of pure kindness. They recently visited Casa Hogar Máximo Cornejo, delivering toys and creating moments of pure joy for the children residing there by spending quality time with them. This heartwarming gesture beautifully exemplifies the project’s greater goal: to inspire a lasting culture of solidarity, empathy, and service throughout the community.
Thanks to these dedicated young people, Puerto Vallarta is seeing the positive results that come from teamwork and shared responsibility.
