Puerto Vallarta is set to make history this fall as the first Mexican city to host the HEAT Latin Music Awards, bringing one of the region’s largest music celebrations to the shores of Jalisco.
Organizers unveiled the milestone announcement on August 13 during a high-profile media event in Miami. Dubbed “HEAT Latin Music Awards Jalisco Style,” the 2026 edition promises a dynamic blend of contemporary entertainment and rich local heritage. The main awards night will take place on November 5 at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center, capping off nearly a week of industry gatherings, conferences, and cultural showcases.

Festivities officially begin on October 31 with HEAT Week, a six-day program split between Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta. The schedule was chosen to coincide with Mexico’s Day of the Dead celebrations on November 1 and 2. Throughout the event, attendees will experience iconic regional elements including live mariachi music, charrería demonstrations, and traditional tequila tastings.
Local craftsmanship will also take center stage during the international broadcast. Five distinct Jalisco art forms – Tonalá ceramics, intricate Wixárika beadwork, blown glass, traditional handmade toys, and detailed piteado leatherwork – will be highlighted throughout the program. In fact, local artisans are directly collaborating on the event’s iconic balloon-shaped winner statuettes, infusing regional heritage directly into the trophies.
Six prominent figures from across Latin America will serve as hosts for the main ceremony on November 5: Mexican television personality Karime Pindter, Dominican presenter Caroline Aquino, Colombian creator La Segura, Uruguayan creator Ignacio Baladán, Venezuelan host Yohana Vargas, and Colombian broadcaster Dímelo King. The nominees for the 2026 awards have not yet been announced and are expected to be revealed soon.
Founded in 2015 in the Dominican Republic, the HEAT Latin Music Awards have spent over a decade honoring top talent across the Spanish-language music industry. After expanding to Medellín, Colombia, for its 2025 gathering, the move to Jalisco in 2026 marks a major new chapter for the ceremony.
Music fans worldwide can catch the upcoming nomination release and watch the full November 5 awards ceremony live via LosHeat.tv as Puerto Vallarta steps into the global spotlight.
