Holiday Hope: Be a Part of Vallarta Volunteers’ Christmas Drive

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – As the holiday season approaches, a local community initiative is seeking volunteers to spread joy and support to those in need. Vallarta Volunteers member, Raena Gartner, is organizing an annual Christmas dinner delivery to underserved communities around the bay.

Partially sponsored by the Eagles Wings Foundation and Andrea’s Foundation for Down Syndrome Kids, the event aims to bring cheer to over 400 individuals and families struggling in the area. This year, however, the project faces increased demand and a shortage of volunteers.

To ensure the success of the event, organizers are appealing to the community for assistance in various capacities:

  • Meal Packing Volunteers: Individuals are needed to help assemble and package Christmas dinners.
  • Delivery Volunteers: Join a team to deliver Christmas cheer to local communities on December 24th. Be done by 11 AM or 2 PM, depending on your availability.
  • Clothing and Toy Donations: New and gently used clothing, shoes, toys, and Spanish-language books are needed for all age groups.
  • Financial Contributions: Donations of any amount are welcome to help purchase gifts and food for over 400 individuals and families.

“Children are especially welcome to participate and help with food preparation and gift bag assembly,” said Gartner. “It’s a wonderful way to instill the spirit of giving in young minds.”

Gartner emphasized the importance of volunteer support, stating, “Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in the lives of those less fortunate.”

Those interested in volunteering or making a donation can contact Raena Gartner or Vallarta Volunteers directly through Facebook.
