When I moved to Puerto Vallarta a little over a year ago, I was coming in hot – and completely broken. I had just blown up my marriage, my business had gone through bankruptcy, and I had lost my best friend, my beloved kitty, Maddy
Then I made the bold decision to move to a new country where I barely spoke the language. To say culture shock hit hard would be an understatement. Even though I’m part Mexican and grew up with some Mexican culture – my family owned a Mexican restaurant in North Platte, Nebraska – living here was an entirely different experience.
As a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, nervous system regulation coach, and trauma-informed practitioner, I understood the importance of slowing down and allowing myself to truly feel my feelings. Healing isn’t something we can rush.
But Puerto Vallarta is full of beauty, adventure, and distractions. Without even realizing it, I filled my days with exploring beaches, trying new restaurants, and building a new life instead of giving my nervous system the time and space it truly needed to recover.
That all began to change when I met Stan at Puerto Vallarta Neurofeedback. I had experienced neurofeedback in the United States years earlier without seeing remarkable results, so I wasn’t expecting much. Stan explained that NeurOptimal® worked very differently, and he was absolutely right.

Unlike traditional linear neurofeedback, where your brain is assessed once and you’re given a predetermined series of sessions based on that initial evaluation, NeurOptimal® recognizes that your brain changes from day to day. Rather than trying to “fix” your brain, it provides real-time feedback that allows your brain to recognize its own patterns and naturally self-optimize.
The easiest way I can explain it is that NeurOptimal® acts like a personal trainer for your brain. A trainer doesn’t do the work for your muscles – they simply provide the guidance that allows your body to become stronger and function more efficiently. That’s exactly how I experienced this technology.
When I started working with Stan, I was dealing with some pretty gnarly depression, hopelessness, and emotional exhaustion. With each session, I felt more peaceful, more resilient, and more like myself again. It didn’t magically erase everything I had been through, but it helped give me back something I desperately needed – hope.
One of the things I appreciate most is Stan himself. His pricing is incredibly affordable, especially considering the value these sessions can provide, and it’s obvious that helping people comes from his heart. Having experienced his own healing journey, he understands what it’s like to struggle and genuinely wants others to find the same sense of possibility that he did.
If you’re dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, addiction or recovery, chronic stress, PTSD, difficulty sleeping, chronic pain, brain fog, emotional overwhelm, or simply feel like your nervous system has been stuck in survival mode, I highly recommend adding NeurOptimal® to your healing toolbox.
The sessions are relaxing, completely non-invasive, easy to experience, and accessible to almost anyone. I don’t believe any one tool is the answer to everything, but I do believe healing is often the result of many small tools working together. For me, NeurOptimal® became one of those tools that helped me find my way back to myself.

Have a Healthy day!
