Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The Instituto de Artes Musicales Puerto Vallarta (IAMPV) is gearing up for an unforgettable 2025-2026 season with exciting events that invite the community to explore and celebrate music, and music education, in Puerto Vallarta.
On Saturday, September 13, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, the community is invited to an open rehearsal of the Vallarta Symphony Orchestra at Biblioteca Los Mangos. This special event invites the public to sit in as the orchestra rehearses, offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at how musicians prepare for performance. Guests can learn how an orchestra functions, discover more about different instruments, and even ask questions. Admission is free.
Later that evening, at 9:00 pm, IAMPV will celebrate the inauguration of its new headquarters at Flamingos 127, Los Sauces, Puerto Vallarta. This state-of-the-art facility will serve as the hub for music education, providing students with expanded spaces for classes, rehearsals, and performances.
IAMPV is the only institute in Puerto Vallarta offering a comprehensive professional music training program, now enhanced with a new Mariachi Specialization alongside its classical curriculum. The program is structured in two levels: propaedeutic (3 years), providing foundational practical and theoretical training, and professional (4 years), offering in-depth study to reach a level comparable to the country’s top conservatories.
For those seeking flexible learning, IAMPV offers classes in a variety of instruments and theoretical courses, including piano, guitar, violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, horn, percussion, classical singing, jazz singing, and mariachi. Classes are taught by Puerto Vallarta’s top professional musicians in both classical and mariachi styles.
IAMPV also serves as a gateway for students to perform with the Vallarta Symphony Orchestra and the Salty Paws Jazz Orchestra, giving aspiring musicians valuable stage experience and professional connections.
The September 13 events mark an exciting start to the OSV season and a new chapter for IAMPV, celebrating education, performance, and the city’s rich musical culture.
