Jalisco Airports Restore Full Service as Hotel Occupancy Stays High

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, México – Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) recently confirmed that air operations have been fully restored at Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport in Puerto Vallarta and Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport in Guadalajara. This recovery is good news for the region’s connectivity, ensuring that the infrastructure remains a reliable gateway for both domestic and international visitors.

On February 25, Guadalajara reported 99 percent active operations, with three cancellations and one scheduled delay. Puerto Vallarta reached 100 percent operational status, with no cancellations reported. GAP also confirmed that Canadian carrier Flair Airlines has resumed service, meaning all airlines serving both airports are now active.

With flight schedules back to normal, both terminals continue to provide efficient services and a safe, comfortable travel experience. Ground transportation is fully operational, including 24-hour taxi and shuttle service in Guadalajara. Additionally, Passenger Experience and Quality Assurance (EPAC) agents remain stationed at both terminals to provide direct assistance.

Guadalajara currently maintains 63 active routes, while Puerto Vallarta operates 53, reinforcing Jalisco’s strong national and international connectivity. GAP reaffirmed its commitment to quality infrastructure and passenger-focused service.

While the transportation sector celebrates this return to form, the local hospitality industry also reports a steady and resilient performance. Abel Villa Sánchez, president of the Puerto Vallarta Hotels and Motels Association, noted that occupancy remains high, currently around 80 percent.

Despite recent logistical challenges, the industry has not seen a wave of early departures. Tourists already in the city are choosing to complete their stays as planned, demonstrating a high level of confidence in the safety and hospitality of the destination.

This stability is due in part to the proactive measures taken by all three levels of government and local businesses. During the most critical moments, authorities kept the public informed while hotel owners prioritized the well-being of their guests by offering support and, in many cases, providing free accommodation to ensure no traveler was left without a safe place to stay.

By keeping visitors at the center of every decision, from the airport terminals to the hotel lobbies, the region has reaffirmed its reputation as a premier destination for quality service and reliability.
