Puerto Vallarta, México – Jalisco is strengthening its international air network with expanded service from Air Canada, boosting connections between Canada and two of the state’s key destinations: Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara.
Beginning this summer, Air Canada will double its Vancouver–Puerto Vallarta service from one weekly flight to two. The added frequency ensures that one of Mexico’s most beloved coastal destinations remains easily accessible for West Coast travelers seeking the sun and surf of the Banderas Bay.
Building on this momentum, a new direct route between Montreal and Guadalajara will launch in June 2026 with three weekly flights. The new connection strengthens ties between Jalisco and eastern Canada, creating more opportunities for tourism, investment, and commercial exchange.
Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Secretary of Tourism for the Government of Jalisco, highlighted the importance of the expanded routes in reinforcing the state’s presence in the Canadian market. She noted that increasing flight frequencies from Vancouver and introducing the Montreal route represent meaningful progress in improving Jalisco’s global connectivity.
Air Canada also plans to raise its overall seat capacity by 18% by summer 2026. The growth will not only facilitate passenger travel but also expand air cargo capacity, supporting bilateral trade and helping Jalisco-based companies connect more efficiently with international markets.
Canada remains one of the leading sources of visitors to Jalisco, particularly to Puerto Vallarta. At the same time, Guadalajara continues to strengthen its role as a strategic gateway for both tourism and business across the region.
Together, these initiatives position Jalisco as a key hub along Mexico’s Pacific corridor and enhance its readiness as the state prepares to welcome global attention during the 2026 World Cup.
