Jalisco Governor Delivers 93 New Buses to Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro Ramírez delivered 93 new buses to Puerto Vallarta last week, marking a significant upgrade to the city’s public transportation system. The buses, equipped with air conditioning and low-floor designs for easy boarding, including for those in wheelchairs, are part of an ongoing effort to modernize and improve transportation services in the region.

The new buses are in addition to 25 units delivered earlier this year, bringing the total number of renewed buses for Puerto Vallarta in 2024 to 118. This initiative, which has involved an investment of over 700 million pesos, is aimed at providing citizens with a more reliable and comfortable transportation experience.

Speaking at the delivery event held at the Convention Center’s parking lot, Governor Alfaro stated, “Puerto Vallarta now has a transportation system that matches the level of tourism and the quality of life its residents deserve.” He noted that with the addition of these buses, the city’s public transport fleet has been fully renewed, with a reserve of 286 units now available to serve the local population, particularly in the upper area of El Pitillal, covering neighborhoods like Magisterio, Loma Bonita, San Esteban, and Villa de Guadalupe.

Governor Alfaro emphasized that the modernization of Puerto Vallarta’s transportation system has been achieved without increasing fares. He also highlighted the state’s commitment to sustainability, noting that the new buses are powered by natural gas, reducing emissions and improving air quality.

In addition to the new buses, the state government has invested in other transportation infrastructure improvements. Governor-elect Pablo Lemus announced plans to allocate 100 million pesos for further modernization efforts, including the transition to electric buses.

The delivery of the new buses marks a significant improvement in Puerto Vallarta’s transportation, enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors. Equipped with an electronic payment system compatible with the Mi Movilidad card, emergency exits, and air conditioning, the new buses will offer a more comfortable and efficient travel experience.
