Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico – Jalisco is once again proving its strength in Mexico’s economy by ranking third in formal job creation during the first four months of 2025. From January to April, the state added 24,862 new formal jobs, according to data from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).
This achievement places Jalisco just behind Nuevo León, which led with 32,825 new jobs, and the State of Mexico, with 30,956. It also puts Jalisco ahead of strong performers like Quintana Roo and Guanajuato, which recorded 16,272 and 15,159 new jobs, respectively.
Jalisco contributed to 14 out of every 100 new jobs created across the country during this period, with Mexico reporting a national total of 179,289 formal jobs.
The state government, through the Ministry of Economic Development (SEDECO), continues to focus on supporting businesses and expanding employment. Regional forums are being held to connect with local business owners, listen to their needs, and offer resources to help them grow and improve.
Active economic programs are also in place to boost productivity, promote talent development, and enhance business competitiveness. These combined efforts aim to position Jalisco as one of the top places in Mexico for job seekers and entrepreneurs alike.
With strong policies and community engagement, Jalisco is building a future full of opportunity and economic strength.
