Mayor Ushers in the Holidays with Tree Lighting on the Malecón

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Mayor Luis Munguía ushered in the holiday season on Wednesday night with the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the city’s iconic Malecón. The event celebrated family, tradition, and community with a heartfelt message of peace and prosperity.

The festivities began with a lively nativity play and a performance by beloved children’s entertainers Bely and Beto, captivating young attendees. The excitement grew as families gathered to admire the towering Christmas tree, standing over 22 meters high, and the dazzling decorations adorning the boardwalk.

“This is a time to come together, to celebrate as a family, and to share the magic of Puerto Vallarta,” said Mayor Munguía. “Events like this highlight the warmth of our community and the beauty of our traditions.”

Munguía emphasized the city’s efforts to honor local culture and traditions while fostering a brighter, cleaner, and safer Puerto Vallarta.

As the countdown reached zero, the towering 22-meter Christmas tree, adorned with dazzling lights and ornaments, illuminated the Malecón. The magical moment marked the official start of the “Vallarta Brilla” festivities, a celebration of the city’s vibrant culture and warm hospitality.

Beyond the awe-inspiring Christmas tree, families can experience the magic of the season with complimentary rides along the Malecón on the Polar Express, adding a touch of delightful whimsy to the festivities.

A second tree was also illuminated at the La Lija Sports Complex, expanding the festive cheer. With lights, laughter, and shared moments, Puerto Vallarta embraces the holidays as a time to cherish community and create lasting memories.
