Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – After a not-so-graceful fall left her wondering what to do next, MiMi Bomba took a friend’s advice and discovered a peaceful place she now recommends to everyone. From chiropractic care to massages and more, Zona Z Spa turned out to be much more than she expected.
I had no idea what to do after I fell a few months ago. Hospital? Go back to the States? What? My Buen Amigo, Anthony, said, “Go see Mark. He’s a great chiropractor!” And that is what I did. So in case you don’t have a good friend like Anthony to advise you, I have written this column for you! Because I am your Buena Amiga!
I am devoting this week’s column to a very special place here in Puerto Vallarta; Zona Z Spa in Zona Romantica. It’s so much more than a spa! I will make an attempt to tell you about their services, but I can only touch on how healing and peaceful it is. This is not an ad, just my opinion and experience.
First, here is a list of their services. Be sure to read the entire column because there will be actual, factual reviews from a friend and from myself. Stay with me.
I have to start with the Summer Specials, which are 30% off. Because summer doesn’t last forever, I don’t know if the specials will either…

A friend from the States had a 90-minute massage – 90 minutes! She’s been back in Oregon for a few weeks, and she still talks about what a great deal it was. When we would be at the beach, she’d ask how much the massages were there – and they were half the time, twice the price. En serio! I am not kidding. Plus, massages in Zona Z Spa are peaceful, guiet, relaxing, with no sand sneaking in… One would expect that with the lovely atmosphere, they would be expensive. Nope!
My personal experience was with wonderful Dr. Mark, who I mentioned in a previous column, rescued me from pain after I had a (clumsy) fall. If not for Dr. Mark, I would likely be lying in my bed complaining like an old lady. Okay. I AM an old lady, but I don’t feel like one.
They do facials, Summer Skin Glow, currently 20% off. I am def going to take advantage of a facial – or 12!
Thai massage. I am up for that soon as well! Also 20% off.
Also, Physical Therapy is available from a real pro.
I am afraid that I haven’t covered the full Zona Z Spa experience, but I wanted you all to know that they are here, and they are excellent! Just take a taxi, or ride up the Funicular with Cecelio or Jonathan, avoiding the 1,000 steps from Olas Altas. (Okay, it’s not 1,000 steps. Just feels like it.) The Funicular is free, but I tip them most of the time. Sometimes I bring them a Coca Cola. They don’t expect it. They just take us up and down all day long with a smile and a greeting.
Full disclosure: Zona Z Spa does not advertise in Banderas News. I wrote this column simply because I am so impressed with them. No other reason. I used to think that they must be expensive, but I was wrong… I just wanted to share with you in case you don’t know about everything they do.
I almost forgot! Zona Z is not just a Spa. They are a Boutique Hotel, as well, with patios and a pool. If you have friends coming to PV, it’s a super location for them to enjoy their vacation time. Check out their website.

Nos vemos pronto,
