Munguía Boosts Puerto Vallarta Road Repairs with New Budget

Puerto Vallarta, México – Mayor Luis Munguía is spearheading a renewed effort to transform Puerto Vallarta’s transportation network through a strategic expansion of the city’s road maintenance programs.

During a recent regular City Council session, the mayor presented a decisive initiative to modify the 2026 Fiscal Year Expenditure Budget. The proposal, which received absolute majority approval, clears the way for a substantial investment in the safety and quality of local streets and avenues. By reallocating existing funds, the administration has secured an additional $20,659,200 Pesos specifically for infrastructure rehabilitation.

This financial adjustment was carefully designed to be budget-neutral, meaning the total city expenditure remains the same while shifting resources to where they are most urgently needed. This move ensures that municipal departments possess the necessary tools to deliver high-quality services without creating a deficit.

The scope of this project extends beyond simple repairs, incorporating a variety of durable and sustainable materials tailored to different neighborhoods. Crews will utilize asphalt for major thoroughfares, while residential areas will see the restoration of traditional cobblestone embedded in concrete.

In a nod to environmental responsibility, the plan also includes the use of eco-friendly cobblestone. Beyond surface repairs, the city will focus on road markings and the grading of rural roads to ensure that every corner of the municipality remains accessible.

This commitment to infrastructure serves as a foundation for broader community development. Better roads do more than just improve the daily commute; they enhance public safety, reduce vehicle wear and tear, and foster economic growth by streamlining the movement of goods and people. As these rehabilitation teams begin their work, residents can look forward to a more reliable and efficient driving experience throughout the city.
